Announcing Our New Geocode Functionality

Announcing Our New Geocode Functionality

As added value for Reel-Scout film offices, the Reel-Scout™ system now includes the ability to automatically generate geocodes (also known as the latitude and longitude) of a given location. When creating a new location, film office staff simply have to enter the location address and then click the “validate address” button on the Location Detail page. The Reel-Scout™ system will then pull the address information entered by the film office staff and generate the latitude and longitude from that address. If no address has been entered, the system will generate the latitude and longitude coordinates for the city or town in which the location sits.

Online Locations Submission

We now have a new module for Reel-Scout that allows the public (homeowners, brokers, etc.) to submit location information and photos on-line from your film office website. The module will be configure to your film office branding and from the link anyone can upload directly into your Reel-Scout™ system – no password or login required. Once submitted and the location will in real-time display in your Reel-Scout™ system as “unapproved.” You then have the choice of approving them (or not). A few items worth noting:

Public vs. Internal Locations Search

Public vs. Internal Locations Search

Did you know that the public locations search functionality and the internal locations search functionality are different? As public, visitors can only select one category/subcategory combination to search at a time. When the public visitor selects a main category, the relevant subcategories appear. In addition, [general] and “all” options appear with each category. If [general] is selected, then the only the locations that were identified as [general] are returned. When “all” is selected, then ALL locations (including those identified as [general] and any other subcategory) are returned.

Adding and Removing Multiple Locations

Adding and Removing Multiple Locations

If you are familiar with the locations in Reel-Scout, you can quickly and easily add multiple locations to a package with a single click. Available both on the BROWSE page and the SEARCH RESULTS page is the blue ‘+’ icon. Clicking this icon will immediately add the location to the package. Once clicked the red ‘x’ will display to toggle the add/remove functionality in the package.
