Screen Nova Scotia has chosen Reel-Scout™ as its location, project, and crew management solution. Reel-Scout™ will provide a digital location library as well as a contact, project, and crew management system -- all of which will allow the office to refine current practices, respond quickly to inquiries, manage productions and work more closely with its clients.
Nova Scotia's screen industry has made a positive impact on Nova Scotia, contributing over $180 million to Nova Scotia's economy and generating economic spin-offs that benefit Nova Scotians' local businesses and people. The Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund (NSFPIF) offers filmmakers funding of 25% – 32% of eligible costs for all spending in Nova Scotia during filming, including labour, goods and services.
The list of productions filmed in Nova Scotia over the years is extensive, including some of the latest movies and series such as The Mist (TV; Spike), Werewolf (Feature; Ashley MacKenzie), Trailer Park Boys (TV; Netflix), Weirdos (Feature; Bruce MacDonald), Pure (TV; Hulu), and Black Cop (Feature; Cory Bowles).
