DC Launches new iPhone App "DC Reel-Crew"

The DC Office of Motion Picture and Television Development ("MPTD") announces today the launching of its new state-of-the-art iPhone app, DC Reel-Crew.

Developed by Reel-Scout, Inc., DC Reel-Crew gives users immediate access to the District's film locations, support services, and crew information wherever they go.

Companies and professionals that support the film industry (such as hotels, restaurants, dry cleaners, and catering companies) in the District can now showcase their products and services through DC Reel-Crew.

As a result, producers will be able to easily find the appropriate crew and services needed for their filming productions using the same mobile app.

"Adopting this new cutting edge technology will allow MPTD to remain competitive and offer superior services to productions wanting to film in the District," stated the director of the DC Film Office Crystal Palmer. "MPTD has some really exciting initiatives planned for the new fiscal year and these new online and mobile features will help take our new initiatives to a whole new level."

In an official press release launching its mobile app DC Reel-Crew, MPTD stated:

ReelScout has become the "gold standard" of location application software, and is currently used by more than 60 film offices and commissions in the United States. New features available to the public through this tool include location specifications, mapping, and key word searching capabilities.

Free for download through iTunes starting today, DC Reel-Crew is the first mobile app introduced by a film office in the Mid-Atlantic region.

If you're a District resident and/or business supporting the film industry, you can register for free with DC Reel-Crew today.
