Montana-made Indie "Winter In The Blood" Selected for Prestigious Film Festival LAFF

Montana-made indie Winter In The Blood, directed by Montana natives Alex and Andrew Smith, will premiere at this year's Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) on June 14 and June 19, 2013. It will be one of the 12 features lined-up for the international festival's Narrative Competition. LAFF is a world-class film festival featuring the best in new American and international cinema. The Smith brothers filmed Winter In The Blood during the summer of 2011 along the Montana Hi-Line in Chinook and Havre — staying true to the authentic settings of James Welch's novel on which the movie is based.

Colorado Launches Online Marketing Tool for Local Production Crew

The Colorado Office of Film Television & Media recently launched Colorado Reel-Crew, an online tool developed by Reel-Scout that allows local film crews, marketing companies, directors and film support companies to register their services. With Colorado Reel-Crew, the Colorado Office of Film Television & Media can now track, manage and promote local crew and businesses that provide production support services to companies filming movies, televisions or commercials in the state.

Grant Wainscott, director of the Clayton County Film, Sports & Entertainment Office said that even though 2012 was the busiest year yet for film production in Clayton County with four major movies filmed here, "you haven't seen anything yet." "We are looking at an even busier year in 2013," Wainscott said. "Although I am not authorized yet to reveal the names of the films, we already have three now in production in Clayton and four to start shooting this summer."

On July 10, 2013, FX will release its new series The Bridge, a moody, atmospheric American police drama starring Demián Bichir (Che, A Better Life) and German actress Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds). The pilot episode was filmed in El Paso, Texas, Tijuana, Mexico, and Los Angeles, California. The Bridge is loosely-based on the Danish/Swedish series Bron, set on the border of Denmark and Sweden.
