The Charlotte Harbor Florida Film Office has selected Reel-Scout as its location and project management solution. In doing so, the Charlotte Harbor Florida Film Office becomes the 15th Florida film office to move to the Reel-Scout™ platform.

The California Film Commission announced in a press release last month that it has selected 31 productions to receive this year's California Film and Television Tax Credit. Among the lucky winners are feature films Purge 2 and The Wash, and popular television series Switched At Birth, Entourage, Pretty Little Liars, Bunheads, and Rizzoli & Isles.

Movie lovers, if you happen to be in Michigan, you can now add film location scouting to your list of fun activities to do. As part of the state's Pure Michigan campaign, the Michigan Film Office releases a film location map taking visitors to many locations where movies were made in West Michigan.

Rob Lowe of NBC's Parks and Recreation and Ginnifer Goodwin of Once Upon a Time will star as President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy in the upcoming drama Killing Kennedy. National Geographic announced recently that filming will begin this month in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Space Warriors, filmed on location at Alabama's U.S. Space and Rocket Center and other locations in Huntsville, Alabama last summer, will have its big premiere tomorrow night, May 31, on the Hallmark Channel.To set the stage for the space adventure film, Hallmark will also air its 2012's A Smile As Big As The Moon (also filmed at and based on real events that happened at the Space & Rocket Center) immediately at 5 p.m. before Space Warriors comes on at 7 p.m.

In the wake of the mega success of Iron Man 3, Robert Downey, Jr. is heading to Massachusetts next month to shoot his next film The Judge, a comedy drama also starring Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), Billy Bob Thornton (Armageddon), and Vera Farmiga (Safe House, The Departed).In The Judge, Downey Jr plays a lawyer who discovered at his mother's funeral that his father - the town's judge - is a murder suspect.

Montana-made indie Winter In The Blood, directed by Montana natives Alex and Andrew Smith, will premiere at this year's Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) on June 14 and June 19, 2013. It will be one of the 12 features lined-up for the international festival's Narrative Competition. LAFF is a world-class film festival featuring the best in new American and international cinema. The Smith brothers filmed Winter In The Blood during the summer of 2011 along the Montana Hi-Line in Chinook and Havre — staying true to the authentic settings of James Welch's novel on which the movie is based.

For filmmakers in Colorado, making movies now gets a little easier. The Colorado Office of Film Television & Media recently launched Colorado Reel-Crew, an online tool developed by Reel-Scout that allows local film crews, marketing companies, directors and film support companies to register their services. With Colorado Reel-Crew, the Colorado Office of Film Television & Media can now track, manage and promote local crew and businesses that provide production support services to companies filming movies, televisions or commercials in the state.

Grant Wainscott, director of the Clayton County Film, Sports & Entertainment Office said that even though 2012 was the busiest year yet for film production in Clayton County with four major movies filmed here, "you haven't seen anything yet." "We are looking at an even busier year in 2013," Wainscott said. "Although I am not authorized yet to reveal the names of the films, we already have three now in production in Clayton and four to start shooting this summer."

On July 10, 2013, FX will release its new series The Bridge, a moody, atmospheric American police drama starring Demián Bichir (Che, A Better Life) and German actress Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds). The pilot episode was filmed in El Paso, Texas, Tijuana, Mexico, and Los Angeles, California. The Bridge is loosely-based on the Danish/Swedish series Bron, set on the border of Denmark and Sweden. FX The Bridge is set in El Paso on the U.S./Mexico border.

Another You, an independent film directed by Christopher Robert, starring Ksenia Solo (Black Swan and SyFy's Lost Girl) and Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages), recently wrapped principal photography in Charleston, West Virginia. Another You is a film about connections and second chances in love. It's a story about a young woman's obsession with her boyfriend and the ups and downs in their relationship.

Cleveland is once again hosting the filming of another blockbuster movie. This time, all the buzz is on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Greater Cleveland Film Commission made an announcement earlier this month detailing the filming schedule of the movie, along with maps of temporary road closures where the production sets up camp.

The Governor of Maine's latest appointment to the Maine State Film Commission is Tara Gardner, Film Production Manager at the prestigious Maine Media Workshops & College. A board of volunteers, hand-selected by the Governor of Maine, the Commission advises the Maine Film Office in its mission to bring film, television and other media projects to Maine.

The Michigan Film Office recently approved three film projects, Don Cheto, Series One, and Original Bethlehem, for incentives from the state.

Last Kind Words, a modern-day Southern Gothic ghost story filmed on Mook Farm, as well as in other locations near Hardinsburg, Kentucky, will soon be available on DVD.
